KL MONORAIL

The KL Monorail is an intra-city public transit system that links
many key destinations within Kuala Lumpur. The Monorail it passes
major hotels, commercial centers and shopping district, making
stops at Titiwangsa, Medan Tuanku, Imbi, Maharajalela, KL Sentral,
Chow Kit, Bukit Nanas, Raja Chulan, Bukit Bintang, Hang Tuah and
Tun Sambanthan.
As the KL Monorail is designed to complement the existing planned
urban transportation systems, it integrates with the other rail
systems such as the STAR LRT at Titiwangsa Station and Hang Tuah
Station, PUTRA LRT at KL Sentral Station, KTM Komuter at KL Sentral
Station and Express Rail Link (ERL) at KL Sentral Station.

The Express Rail links the KLSentral with KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International
Airport). The check-in and ticket counter are on Level 1 of the
KLSentral complex. Flight passengers are also able to check-in
their baggages at the check-in counter just like you would at
the airport.

BUSES
The buses of KL are comfortable, modern and air-conditioned. Service
is comprehensive and it is a quick and inexpensive way to get
around. The two main bus companies are Intrakota and Cityliner.
Other bus companies include Len Seng Bus, Metrobus and Cityliner.
It is "pay-as-you-board" and it is best if you have
the exact change in hand.

TAXIS
All taxis operating within Kuala Lumpur City are metered. The
taxi charges based on meter reading for a single passenger is
charged at RM2 for the first 2 km and RM0.10sen for every subsequent
200 metres, and RM2.00 for the first two minutes and RM0.10sen
for every 45 seconds for waiting time. If there are extra passengers
(more than 2), then there will be extra charges at RM0.20sen.
Luggage stored in the trunk will be charged an additional RM1.00,
and a fee of RM1.00 will be imposed for house call taxis. Taxis
are available round the clock but are subject to 50% surcharge
on the metered fare from midnight to 6a.m. Taxis from Airport
terminals and KL Sentral uses the coupon system.
